Delivering inclusive and accessible events is no longer an option; it’s a necessity. In post-secondary education, 19% of students openly acknowledge having a disability—a percentage that is significantly understated, as few students elect to notify their universities of their disability. The number rises when examining the US population as a whole, 26% of whom are impacted by a disability.

In support of accessibility, the US Department of Education and the US Department of Justice issued a Dear Colleague letter this past May. It emphasized higher education’s legal imperative of removing barriers that impede people with disabilities from participating in programs and activities.

To help your college or university effectively engage constituents with disabilities, Cvent is hosting a live webinar where we will help break down the planning of accessible events. This webinar will offer university administrators, event planners, and event technologists invaluable accessibility insights by answering questions like the following:

    • What is Accessibility?
    • What are the different types of disabilities?
    • How do I plan my events in a way that accommodates people with these disabilities?

During this interactive session, our event accessibility experts will equip you with the knowledge you need to create accessible and inclusive experiences for your students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors alike. Live attendees will also be able to submit questions to our accessibility team for them to answer in real-time.

Together, we can unlock accessibility and build a brighter future for all higher education event attendees.
